For over 35 years, Marineland was home to the legendary Cassius, once recognised as the world’s largest crocodile in captivity. Cassius captured the hearts of visitors from around the world with his massive size and calm, commanding presence. He passed away peacefully on 1 November 2024, marking the end of an era. Today, Marineland honours his memory with stories, photographs, and tributes to one of the most iconic residents of the Great Barrier Reef.

Cassius leaves behind a powerful legacy of education and conservation. His presence helped raise awareness about crocodiles and inspired generations of visitors to respect and protect these ancient reptiles.
